Nutritional Team

Dr. Alex Santos is a Ruminant Consultant for Van Beek Nutrition. Alex has been working with Van Beek Nutrition since September 2006 serving Utah, southeastern Idaho, and parts of Colorado. Originally from San Paulo, Brazil, Alex's education includes a Ph.D. in Animal Science from Mississippi State University, a MS in Animal Production from the University Baja California, Mexico, as well as a DVM from University of Marilia, Brazil.

Alex has ten years of experience in animal nutrition. He was a self-employed veterinary consultant and livestock specialist in Sao Paulo, Brazil where he inspected clients of the Paranapanema Valley Milk Producer Association. He provided management services in dairy and beef operations, and provided education and technical orientation for producers and workers in beef and dairy operations. Alex also worked as an Agribusiness Consultant for Integration of Agribusiness Systems (SAI) in Sao Paulo. There he managed and supervised beef and dairy farms, negotiated and advised suppliers and producers, and developed and coordinated projects for local sustainable agriculture programs.
